OUR BOLD VISION

Findlay Market has long been a driving force in the revitalization of Over-the-Rhine, the Findlay neighborhood, the West End, and North of Liberty Street. As Ohio’s oldest continuously operating public market, it’s deeply connected to the region’s economic growth. With major development underway around us, Findlay Market remains a key partner in the area’s transformation. This campaign will help us grow alongside these changes to better serve both residents and visitors. Findlay Forward is our commitment to ensuring the Market continues to thrive at the heart of this progress.

More Than A Market

The Corporation for Findlay Market (CFFM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that took over management of Findlay Market in 2004. CFFM manages daily operations and legacy preservation while the city retains ownership of the Market itself. CFFM is a national leader, setting the standard for community-driven success in food, culture and commerce, and often consults for markets nationwide seeking to improve their own programs. Central to the core values of Findlay Market is the desire to support and provide for our local community. More than simply a hub for fresh, local food, the Market drives economic activity, social interaction, and an inclusive experience for all.

History of Findlay Market

Findlay Market is Ohio's oldest surviving municipal market house, the last of nine that once thrived in Cincinnati.

The Market was established to meet the growing demand for fresh food as Cincinnati’s population boomed during the industrial revolution. Throughout the 20th century, Findlay Market continued to evolve, surviving challenges including economic downturns and competition from supermarkets. In 1972, the Market earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it remains the heart of Over-the-Rhine, supporting local entrepreneurs and food producers, and has been a vital part of the Cincinnati economy for nearly 175 years.
